| Maria's birthday, 2009 October 2009
Maria's birthday is October 19, but she had to work the day of her actual birthday, and I had to work
that night, so we went out to dinner on Sunday, October 18, to celebrate.
We went to Chevy's in Menlo Park, which has delicious food and the best service of the Chevy's we've visited.
We had a great time.
Before hand, Maria had said she didn't want the birthday treatment at Chevy's, so we did not tell the servers ... but they overheard
us talking about it, so all of a sudden, after dinner, there was this great rush of noise as a bunch of Chevy's employees
rushed to our table, singing "Happy, happy birthday!" and bestowing a sombrero upon Maria.
It was pretty fun. There is a wonderful photo I made of Maria laughing, but she doesn't like it, so I don't get to share it here.
Still, we all had fun. Riley claimed the sombrero right away, and now it hangs on the wall in his room.
